Creating Natural Confidence
Self care is healthy. As we work to keep our inner spirit and body healthy, we can be attentive to our outer self as well. Taking time to care for our largest body organ (our skin) can help us radiate confidence. In the past, aesthetic treatments such as neuromodulators (aka wrinkle relaxers or Botox) or dermal fillers may have been considered taboo, but now they are recognized as a form of self care.
Taking care of our skin has importance long before the first signs of aging appear. Aging “gracefully” has a spectrum of meaning. It could include using high quality skin care products to keep one’s skin glowing or regular neurotoxin treatments to relax frown lines. Consulting with a trained medical professional to discuss aesthetic treatment options allows us to make informed decisions on whether we want to incorporate this popular, growing form of self care into our lifestyle.
The Meaning Behind Aisthēta
The word ‘aesthetic’ comes from the Greek word ‘aisthētikos’. This early form of the word was a combination of the Greek words ‘aisthēta’ meaning ‘perceptible things’, and ‘aisthesthai’ meaning ‘perceive’ or sense of perception. Aistheta means ‘things perceptible by the senses’ to which can be expressed as ‘to sense all that is beauty’.
