PRECARE:

Always protect your skin from the sun with use of sunscreen, a minimum of SPF 30 or higher. Don't forget to reapply! No prolonged sun exposure, spray tanning, or tanning bed use for at least 1 week prior to procedure.
Discontinue retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide containing products at least one week prior to procedure. Be sure to check all skin care products including over-
the-counter.
Please come to your appointment with a clean face.

POSTCARE:

There is little to no downtime after Aerolase, you may have some mild redness to skin for a few hours then will fade. You can resume normal daily activities after each treatment. Depending on the type of laser treatment performed, there may be temporary darkening, lifting of the pigment, or scab formation in the treatment areas. Please abstain from peeling or picking at these areas, and keep the affected areas moisturized. You should avoid direct sun exposure and use a broad spectrum SPF 30 or greater after your laser treatment. We recommend a mineral based sun screen, such as Epionce or AlumierMD.
Use the post treatment care skin products (available for purchase), as this can help improve your results of the laser
therapy. Do not use any products like retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or scrubs to face for 48-72 hours post treatment.
If you are being treated for acne, make sure you pay attention to possible cross contamination:
Discard any liquid makeup and clean your make-up brushes
Clean things that come in contact with your face: pillow case, phones, clothing
If receiving treatment for skin rejuvenation/anti-aging, optimal results are obtained with a series of three treatments and then annually.
If receiving treatment for melisma, rosacea, psoriasis, or acne, this treatment is for management of
the disease and not a cure. Subsequent treatments to control the disease are needed.
If receiving treatment for onychomycosis (nail fungus), Please remember that results are not immediate, as it takes a nail anywhere from 9-12 months to completely grow out. It is recommended that patients follow this preventive care regimen to avoid reinfection:
Apply an antifungal cream for 2 weeks following the procedure
Always spray inside the shoes at the end of the day with an antifungal spray and avoid wearing the shoes for 2 days or use Steri-Shoe ultraviolet shoe sanitizers
After 2 weeks, spray the feet or fingers with anti-fungal spray on an ongoing basis
Change the sheets the 1st night after each treatment
Cleanse the floor of the shower before next use with a cleanser that includes bleach
Cleanse all nail instruments with bleach before using them again
Throw out any nail polish previously used on the nails
